The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is inexpensive, often leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.
But this year, as protests across the Middle East have risen the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered into sharp focus.
In a region that has among the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one business is taking benefit of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, already their client-list consists of McDonald's.
